- Worked under Director oversight through planning, tender and construction stages. Selected drawings shown were prepared by me or developed collaboratively with the Director as part of the project documentation process. All visualisations shown were produced by me.
Private art studio designed beside the client’s main residence. The project involved the demolition of an existing poor quality two-storey dwelling and the construction of a new single storey private studio for the client’s own use.
The building was designed as a simple contemporary studio space, with a large open working area supported by ancillary spaces including an entrance and cloaks area. Large sliding glazed panels open the studio towards the garden, while rooflights bring natural light into the main workspace. The material palette included vertical charred timber cladding, a dark standing seam zinc roof and dark aluminium glazing, helping the building sit quietly within the existing mature landscape.
My role included preparing and updating sketch design, planning, tender and construction stage drawings, developing the 3D model and producing visualisations to support design development and client review.
