Public works project involving the extension and upgrade of Nobber Fire Station in Co. Meath, including improvements to the existing building, new extension areas, external works and associated site upgrades to support fire service operations.
I was involved as an Architectural Graduate during the construction stage, working alongside a Director to assist with technical coordination, drawing updates, contractor queries and construction stage information. The project involved a number of detailed architectural items, including external zinc cladding, fitted furniture and specialist stairs.
The project gave me valuable experience in public sector construction projects and emergency services buildings and the level of coordination required between the architect, contractor, consultants, QS and local authority client.
